Police have arrested one of two suspects involved in the robbery of a gasoline station in San Jacinto, Pangasinan.
The other suspect is being pursued, as of this writing, authorities said.
The incident took place around 5 a.m. on Saturday, April 18, 2026, when two men riding a motorcycle held up a gasoline station in Barangay Guibel.
According to police, the suspects initially posed as customers and asked to refuel before carrying out the robbery.
After paying and receiving their change, one of the suspects declared a hold-up and pointed a gun at the pump attendant before taking cash from the cashier’s box. The suspects fled the scene with about P3,000.
Police said they immediately launched operations after receiving the report.
“Upon information at nakapag-report na sila kaagad sila sa amin nag-conduct kami kaagad ng dragnet sa mga nearby municipalities namin,” Police Major Napoleon Velasco Jr., chief of the San Jacinto Police Station, said.
Authorities conducted a manhunt operation that led to the arrest of one suspect in the town of Manaoag later that day.
“During the arrest na-recover natin ‘yung ginamit na motor at saka ‘yung mga suot na ginamit nila pati ‘yung mga ebidensya sa paggawa nila ng krimen,” Velasco said.
Police said the motorcycle used in the robbery, as well as clothing and other evidence, were recovered during the arrest.
The second suspect remains at large, and authorities said pursuit operations are ongoing.
Police have advised gasoline station operators, especially those operating круглосуточно, to remain vigilant to prevent similar incidents.
The management of the robbed gasoline station declined to comment.
