Pamana Water is set to build a new pumping station as residents in parts of Dagupan City are calling for improved water service as weak water pressure continues to disrupt daily routines.
In Barangay Lasip Grande, some households said water flow from their taps becomes very weak every morning and around noon, making it difficult to bathe, wash and complete other household needs.
For Larry Castillo, the problem lasts until late afternoon, with stronger water pressure usually returning only at night.
He is among several consumers of Pamana Water-Dagupan asking for a more reliable supply in their area.
In response, the water provider said it conducted a study that led to plans for a new water pumping station in Barangay Pogo Chico, aimed at strengthening supply in Lasip Grande and nearby communities.
“Ito pong Lasip Grande, isa po ito sa may mahinang pressure lalo na tuwing umaga kung saan sabay-sabay yung paggamit so ito po ang concern area natin,” Glenn Gomez, branch manager of Pamana Water-Dagupan, said.
The company said the new water source development is expected to be completed within three months.
The project is also expected to improve water supply in nearby barangays and extend stronger service to the downtown area.
Residents said they hope the project will bring lasting relief.
