A suspect in a series of robbery incidents in Cagayan de Oro City has been arrested.

Authorities said the suspect was arrested after CCTV footage of a robbery incident circulated on social media.

In the video, a man and a woman are seen walking together in Barangay Nazareth. Later, the suspect approached them and allegedly declared a hold-up. He then stabbed the man and left.

In a separate incident, the suspect was seen boarding a motorcycle. He approached some bystanders by the road and lit a cigarette.

Later, a woman was seen crying and asking for help after she was held up by the suspect.

Police launched a follow-up operation and arrested the suspect in the same barangay.

Seized from the suspect were a 15-inch knife and several sachets of suspected shabu.

“Nasita nga naay hinagiban apan ni-resist kini nakiglakag kini sa atong kapulisan apan na subdue nato ang maong indibidwal ug nakuha siya along San Antonio Church dapita sa 12th St. ra gihapon,” Cagayan de Oro City Police Office (COCPO) Spokesperson, Capt. Emilita Simon, said.

The suspect is now detained and is facing charges, including for violation of the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act (RA 9165).

Meanwhile, authorities urged other victims to file formal complaints.

“Ugaling naa pay mga nabiktima niini niya o katong mga nabiktim adtoi siya og positively identify para madugangan og file sa kaso kining tawhana,” Simon added.
