More than 200 families were displaced after a fire hit a residential area in Barangay 23-C, Davao City.
Authorities said the fire spread quickly as most of the houses affected were made of light materials and were built close to each other. The wind was also strong at that time.
Rescuers also managed to rescue a dog trapped inside one of the burning houses.
Based on initial data from the Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP), around 150 houses were affected.
Authorities are still investigating the cause of the fire.
Several houses in the Badjao community were also affected severely.
Personnel of the City Social Welfare and Development Office (CSWDO) conducted tagging and validation of residents affected.
The residents affected were also given assistance.
