A man and his son were stabbed dead while sleeping inside their home in Barangay Inayagan, City of Naga in Cebu.

The two reportedly drank alcohol prior to the incident, which was why they were deep asleep when attacked.

They died from stab wounds in the chest.

The man’s wife woke up to the commotion and managed to defend herself. Still, she sustained stab wounds in her arm and armpit.

The victims were identified as Conrado Tapdasan, 49, and his son, Dominic, 21.

The survivor, Conrado’s wife, was identified as Edna, 49.

According to authorities, the suspect, a certain Albert, 27, is a neighbor of the victims and is actually a friend of Conrado’s eldest child.

The suspect and Conrado’s eldest child got together with friends to drink to celebrate their neighborhood’s fiesta.

Later in the night, however, due to drunkenness, the two figured in an argument, which ended with Conrado’s son hitting Albert with a fist.

The suspect reportedly got back at Conrado’s son by attacking his family.

Albert escaped, initially, but was arrested, eventually. The police also recovered the kitchen knife he allegedly used to stab the victims.

He is facing charges for two counts of murder and frustrated murder.
