Prices of rice have gone down at the Carbon Market in Cebu City while the prices of meat and fish remain stable, as of this writing.

Ganador rice, which was sold for P68 per kilo previously now costs P59.

Other varieties such as Denorado are priced at P52 per kilo, Lion Ivory at P57, and Jasmine rice at P60.

Imported rice varieties are sold at no less than P50 per kilo.

Retailers said the supply of rice is currently abundant.

“Ning daghan naman ang supply,” a vendor, Gerry Guilan, said.

Pork prices remain stable, ranging from P350 to P380 per kilo depending on the cut.

“Naa gihapon mga suki mi nga bisan holiday naa,” a meat vendor, Nora Yray, said.

Oversized pork is cheaper at P250 per kilo, which vendors clarified is due to size, but not a sow.

“Naay uban negosyante ang ilang kuanon sagad oversized kay mas maka less man sila. Ingon sila oversized gahi pero depende ra gyud na sa imong diskarte kung unsaon nimo pagpahumok,” another meat vendor, Marites Verdida, added.

Beef sells for P380 per kilo while whole chicken is priced at P190 per kilo and cut portions at P220.

Fish prices also remain stable as supply is sufficient. Tilapia sells for P200 per kilo, Bodboron for P160, and Molmol between P240 and P280 per kilo.
