Authorities have launched search and rescue operations for a 31-year-old man who was reported missing while hiking on Mt. Kalatungan in Pangantucan, Bukidnon.

According to the Police Regional Office-Northern Mindanao (PRO-10), the hiker was seen last near a river close to the first camp on Friday, June 12, 2026.

Ground search operations are currently being carried out by personnel from the Pangantucan rescue team, volunteer tour guides, and the Provincial Environmental and Natural Resources Office (PENRO).

The teams have combed identified areas continuously, including riverbanks and trail routes in an effort to locate the missing hiker.

Members of the Pangantucan Municipal Police Station and 1004th Company, Regional Mobile Force Battalion (RMFB-10) have been deployed to provide perimeter security and maintain order in the search area.

The deployment of police officers also aimed to ensure the safety and security of rescuers and volunteers involved in the operation.

Authorities said they remain in close coordination with the local government unit and other partner agencies as the search operation continue.
