A man was killed while his wife was injured after they were shot in Kitaotao, Bukidnon on Monday, June 15, 2026.

Based on investigation, the couple was about to get off their motorcycle to visit their child when the suspect suddenly approached and shot them.

They were rushed to the hospital, but the husband was declared dead on arrival, while the wife survived the attack.

“Sa SOCO aduna sila’y narecover nga unom kabuok nga mga fire-cartridge case nga allegedly from a 9mm nga pistola and then base pud sa SOCO report adunay dose ka samad-pinusilan that is entry and exit wound sa lawas sa maong biktima,” Police Regional Office-Northern Mindanao (PRO-10) Spokesperson, Major Joann Navarro, said.

Investigators are looking into several angles, including the victim’s alleged disputes related to his land-selling activities.

Authorities also learned that the victim had been shot earlier this year but survived the attack.

“Ilang ginalantaw nga posibilidad nga aduna siya’y naengkwentro nga wala ganahi allegedly sa maong binuhatan ug ila pud ginalantaw ang anggulo nga within sa ilang grupo adunay mga wala pagkasinabot sa bahinay,” Navarro added.

Authorities are investigating the incident to identify and arrest the perpetrator.
