Authorities have identified the two people found dead inside a vehicle along the Tarlac-Pangasinan-La Union Expressway (TPLEX) in Victoria, Tarlac.
The vehicle was found along the southbound lane of TPLEX in Barangay San Francisco, Victoria, on June 17, 2026, according to the Tarlac Police Provincial Office.
Police said the victims have been identified positively by their relatives, a development that authorities said would aid the ongoing investigation and documentation of the case.
“Ang pagkakakilanlan ng mga biktima ay mahalagang bahagi ng patuloy na imbestigasyon at case documentation upang matukoy ang lahat ng kaugnay na pangyayari sa insidente,” Police Captain Rub Alcantara, public information officer of the Tarlac Police Provincial Office, said.
Authorities are working with the Tarlac Forensic Unit to conduct forensic examinations and complete other procedures needed to establish the circumstances surrounding the deaths.
“Inaasahan po natin na sa lalong madaling panahon ay makumpleto ang forensic examination at iba pang kinakailangang proseso upang makatulong sa pagresolba sa naturang insidente,” Alcantara said.
Police did not disclose other details about the victims or the nature of the incident.
Meanwhile, the families of the victims have asked for privacy as they mourn their loss.
The police also said the families have requested that details of the incident not be publicized further while investigation is ongoing.
Authorities have yet to announce the results of the forensic examination.
