A man in Barangay Tibanga, Iligan City, was arrested for allegedly exploiting young women, including minors, and coercing them into prostitution in exchange for profit.
Two victims, 16 and 18 years old, were rescued.
Authorities conducted an entrapment operation on Wednesday, June 24, 2026, after receiving information about the suspect allegedly exploiting and peddling young women for sexual services in exchange for profit.
According to the Presidential Anti-Organized Crime Commission (PAOCC), the suspect was identified as the primary facilitator.
The victims were brought to the City Social Welfare and Development (CSWD) Children Assessment and Processing Center for intervention.
The suspect, on the other hand, is now detained and facing charges for violations of the Anti-Trafficking in Persons Act of 2003 (RA 9208) and the Special Protection of Children Against Abuse, Exploitation and Discrimination Act (RA 7610).
