A worker at a mining site in Maco, Davao de Oro who allegedly shot his colleague to death surrendered to authorities on Friday, June 26, 2026.

Based on investigation, the incident occurred inside the processing plant in Barangay Limbo on Wednesday, June 24.

Responding police officers found the victim lifeless with multiple gunshot wounds.

Operatives then pursued the suspect until he surrendered. Charges are being prepared against him, as of this writing.

“The Davao de Oro Police Provincial Office commends the cooperation of the community and reiterates its commitment to uphold the rule of law, ensure a fair and impartial investigation, and pursue justice while respecting the legal rights of all parties involved,” Davao de Oro Police Provincial Office said.

BUKIDNON SHOOTING

Meanwhile, a 35-year-old man was shot dead by his drinking companion in Kitaotao, Bukidnon.

Based on investigation, the victim and the 32-year-old suspect were drinking when they figured in a heated argument.

Authorities said the suspect actually left the area first to prevent the situation from escalating but he encountered the victim again. This time, he shot him in the neck suing a homemade handgun.

Police are pursuing him, as of this writing.
