A school in Olongapo City has launched an investigation after a video circulating on social media showed a student attacking a classmate physically inside a classroom in what school officials described as an alleged bullying incident.
The video, which was posted on the "Kami ang Batang Gapo" Facebook page, showed a student punching another student repeatedly. The victim tried to move away as other students attempted to stop the attacker. Moments later, the alleged assailant picked up a chair and struck the victim with it.
The incident took place inside a classroom at Columban College.
In a statement, the school said it secured the victim immediately and provided medical assistance. It also offered psychological intervention to the victim's parents.
School officials said they have already spoken with the students involved and their parents as part of an ongoing investigation.
The school reiterated that it has a strict anti-bullying policy and does not tolerate any form of violence, harassment, or intimidation.
The Department of Education and the Commission on Higher Education are yet to release a statement, as of posting.
