A day after delivering his State of the Nation Address (SONA) on Monday, July 27, 2026, President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. visited the Duterte stronghold of Davao City to inspect the People’s Ville housing project in Calinan District, which is expected to benefit thousands of families.

As part of his visit, Marcos inspected occupied housing units, model units, and the progress of one of the largest socialized housing projects in the Davao region.

The housing project is part of the government’s efforts to expand access to affordable and decent housing through the Expanded Pabahay para sa Pilipino (4PH) program.

“Sa pamamagitan ng Expanded 4PH Program, layunin ng pamahalaan na mabawasan ang housing backlog, mailipat ang mga pamilyang nangangailangan sa mas ligtas na lugar, at makapagbigay ng mas matatag na pundasyon para sa kanilang kinabukasan,” the Presidential Communications Office said.

The housing project will feature 72 residential buildings with a total of 7,200 housing units across a more than 14-hectare site.

As of this writing, 26 buildings with a 2,600 housing units have already been completed, and more than 400 families have already moved into their new homes.

The community will also include parks, an outdoor gym, a multipurpose hall, and other amenities for residents.
