Two people were killed while another was injured after the vehicle they were riding was fired at in Datu Saudi Ampatuan, Maguindanao del Sur on Thursday, August 20, 2026.
According to the Police Regional Office-Bangsamoro Autonomous Region (PRO-BAR), the victims were traveling to Cotabato City from Datu Unsay when they were shot by unidentified suspects riding a motorcycle upon reaching the place of incident.
The 56-year-old driver and his 40-year-old companion died on the spot after sustaining gunshot wounds. Their other companion, a laborer, was brought to a hospital for treatment.
Authorities are investigating the incident to identify the suspects and determine the motive.
