A modern jeepney bound for Consolacion town in Cebu figured in a road accident that killed one passenger and hurt five others at around 11 p.m. of November 14, 2023.
The incident happened on the national highway in Barangay Basak corner Barangay Labogon in Mandaue City.
The modern jeepney lost control after it hurtled reportedly past a vehicle, overtook it, and hit another vehicle parked along the road before turning on its side.
The casualty was said to be a call center agent on her way home from work.
The driver is detained at the Mandaue City Police Station 3. He will be facing charges for reckless driving resulting to homicide and multiple physical injuries.
