It was an award-winning night for GMA Integrated News (GMAIN) as it claimed four distinct awards during the recently concluded 20th Philippine Quill Awards held yesterday, January 23, at the Marriott Grand Ballroom in Newport City, Pasay.

In attendance to receive the honors were Senior Vice President and Head of GMA Integrated News, Regional TV and Synergy Mr. Oliver Victor B. Amoroso, and Vice President for News Programs and Specials Ms. Michelle Seva.

GMAIN’s flagship newscast, “24 Oras” was recognized for “Sinking Cities,” a Climate Change Special Reports story that explored and tackled the looming effects of climate change, particularly to imperiled regions in the Philippines that may sink due to the inevitability of rising water levels.

GMA Network’s late night newscast, “Saksi,” obtained an award for its story that featured the importance of Sierra Medra, the country's longest mountain range that runs through ten provinces.

“Sounds and Stories of the Philippines,” GMA News and Public Affairs’ unique ASMR podcast on Spotify that narrates enchanting Filipino folktales, also received recognition.

Meanwhile, "Kapuso ng Kalikasan,” GMA Network’s foundational project that commits to protecting the environment, got a distinction as well under the Corporate Social Responsibility category.

During the award-giving body's 19th edition earlier last year, GMA Network claimed an Award of Excellence under the Communication Training and Education Category for its “Virtual Studio Tours.”

The Philippine Quill Awards is a prestigious award-giving initiative by the International Association of Business Communicators Philippines (IABC) that aims to recognize the “best communication programs, tools, and research projects across various industries.”
