Ryan Rosman provided timely attacks as San Beda University escaped Lyceum of the Philippines University narrowly in the third set to complete a 25-17, 25- 16, 25-23 win in NCAA Season 100 men's volleyball on May 7, 2025 at the FilOil EcoOil Centre.

In a report by GMA Integrated News' Bea Micaller, the third-year outside spiker was the steady presence amid a late surge by the Pirates, finishing with a team-high 13 points built on 12 attacks and one block as the Red Spikers improved to 8-6 to bolster their Final Four hopes.

Season host LPU, which was missing the services of its top scorer Jun Edang, bowed out of contention after dropping to a 2-12 card.

But even without its main gunner, LPU proved it can still put up a fight as Ace Blanco caught fire in the final frame by forcing a 12-all deadlock to spark their comeback.

Rosman, though, didn't allow LPU to build any kind of momentum and scored four points as part of their 4-2 run that made it a 16-14 lead for the Mendiola crew, which was just fresh off an upset win against league-leading Mapua University last Sunday.

Mark Lanorio stepped up for the short-handed LPU by unleashing a quick attack that cut the deficit to one, 16-17. It was, however, answered with a 3-0 blast by San Beda capped by a Mark Montemayor opposite kill as the Red Spikers cruised to a 20-16 advantage.

Errors almost cost San Beda the set following two consetuvei attack errors from Rosman and setter Dominic Castañeda as LPU forced a 23-all deadlock.

Rosman then made amends by going for the cross court kill to deliver the match point at 24-23 while Anrie Bakil and Castañeda conspired to reject the final attack attempt of LPU.

Axel Van Book and Alener Munsing both finished with 11 points while Bakil chipped in nine markers to contribute to the sweep victory.

Without Edang, the league's 11th best scorer, John Cielo took the scoring cudgels for LPU after tallying 11 points while Blanco put together seven markers.
