At least 206 student-athletes and other members of the delegation will represent Lapu-Lapu City in the Batang Pinoy National Games in General Santos City from October 25 to 31, 2025.

The delegation will compete in various sporting events such as archery, arnis, athletics, badminton, boxing, chess, dancesport, tennis, taekwondo, lawn tennis, among others.

Mayor Cindi King-Chan has reminded the delegation to always bear in mind the courage and determination of Datu Lapu-Lapu, a local hero and icon.

Chan called on delegates to live up to the values of Datu Lapu-Lapu, and to bear in mind always the core values of a sportsman while enjoying the experience and meeting new friends.

Dr. Marilyn Andales, schools division superintendent; Dr. Ronald Ferrer, assistant schools division superintendent; Orlan Joseph Carungay, Sangguniang Kabataan Federation president; City Councilor Annabeth Cuizon, chairperson of the Committee on Education, Research and Development, Science and Technology, Culture, Heritage, and Historical Affairs; and Vince Carungay, sports commissioner, were among officials who attended the send-off ceremony.

A Holy Mass was offered, followed by the blessing of student-athletes and other delegates.

During the program, teams in the arnis, taekwondo, and dancesport proved their mettle in separate performances.

The Lapu-Lapu City Government through the Sports Commission, Sangguniang Kabataan Federation, and the Department of Education handed over financial assistance to the delegation.
