General Santos City has emerged as the overall champion in the recently concluded SOCCSKSARGEN Regional Athletic Association (SRAA) Meet 2026 held in Sultan Kudarat, which hosted this year’s regional sporting event.
The winners were announced during the closing ceremony at the Provincial Capitol gymnasium evening on Saturday, April 11, 2026.
Koronadal City secured the first runner-up spot, followed by Kidapawan City as second runner-up, and Cotabato City as third runner-up.
General Santos City dominated the regular sports category with 149 gold medals, 106 silver medals, and 110 bronze medals.
The week-long competition kicked off on April 7. The Philippines’ first Olympic gold medalist, Hidilyn Diaz-Naranjo, graced and led the opening ceremony, together with local athletes from across the region.
Meanwhile, the Mr. and Miss SRAA Meet 2026 were also crowned.
John Lawrence Buenafe of Sarangani Province was named Mr. SRAA Meet 2026 while Sasha Epifany Dela Cruz of Tacurong City won the title of Miss SRAA Meet 2026.
“Even private sector of the province of sultan kudarat, mga negosyante mga citizen they also contributed to the success of sraa, we all shares this together this not just for sultan kudarat it is for the whole soccsksargen and we are looking forward na mas marami pa tayong maibigay sa ating bansa,” Sultan Kudarat Governor Datu Pax Ali Mangudadatu said.
The provincial government aims to host more major events in the future not only at the local level but also international sporting events and other major activities.
