In Reddit AMA, Trillanes answers lighthearted questions, takes shots at Duterte

Senator Antonio Trillanes IV on Thursday went on Reddit to answer all kinds of questions from netizens, even using the occasion as an opportunity to take shots once again at President Rodrigo Duterte.

In his AMA (Ask Me Anything) session, Trillanes gamely answered questions such as who he would want to play him in a movie — "Jericho Rosales, maybe" — and who he would want to be his leading lady — "Jennylyn Mercado. Hehe :)"

But when asked who would play Duterte in a Trillanes biopic, he answered: "For Duterte....hmmm....there is no actor born yet that looks evil enough to play the part."

Trillanes added he is not sure yet if his life is worth being shown on television.

"I believe I'm just living up the first chapter of my life story. So, I don't know yet if it is even worth being shown on tv," he said.

Trillanes has been critical of Duterte even before the latter won the presidency, alleging that the former Davao City mayor owned bank accounts that contained unexplained wealth. Duterte has denied the allegations, even calling Trillanes "ignorant".

Social media support

In his AMA, Trillanes answered a host of different questions about Duterte, including the vocal social media support for the President.

When asked about his feelings toward pro-Duterte bloggers, Trillanes replied: "Wala lang. Deadma lang. I won't waste my time and energy by taking their comments personally."

He said that he has no plans on taking legal action against those social media users.

"I just ignore him/them completely," he said.

Reacting to Trillanes' remarks, Communications Asec. Mocha Uson, one of Duterte's most vocal social media supporters, said the senator should refrain from trying to take down Duterte.

"Paalala ko lang po kay Senador Trillanes na siya ay halal ng taumbayan kaya dapat po sa taumbayan sya manilbihan hindi sa ilang kaalyado sa pulitika," she said.

"Tama na ang paninira niya sa ating Pangulo dahil si Pangulong Duterte ay hinalal din ng taumbayan. Mag antay nalang sila matapos ang termino nito at kung gusto nya tumakbo siya sa pagka-pangulo kasi tila mas magaling pa siya sa ating Pangulo tignan ko lang kung manalo sya dahil  baka kahit sa pagka konsehal ay hindi mananalo yan," she added. —Jessica Bartolome/JST, GMA News
