VIRAL: Actor Maria Isabel Lopez posts about removing divider cones and driving in the ASEAN lane

With portions of both northbound and southbound EDSA turned into an ASEAN lane, impassable to commoners, traffic this weekend has hit a new low.

But actor Maria Isabel Lopez isn’t having any of that. On her Instagram and Facebook accounts, she posted about how she removed the divider cones that defined the ASEAN lane, entered it, and happily drove on.

She posted a selfie and two videos that showed her swift and cushy drive down the lane, while the rest of EDSA was on standstill.

“MMDA thinks I’m an official ASEAN delegate. If you can’t beat em, join them,” reads a portion of her caption, which she hashtagged #nosticker, #leadership, #belikemaria, #pasaway, and #selfpreservation.

Her post has been shared over 1,200 times on Facebook and has garnered 168 comments, as of writing. While most of her post engagements were angry, there were also a few who declared love and admiration for what she did.

Lopez on Sunday apologized for driving in the ASEAN lane on EDSA over the weekend.
