School honors certificates with politicans' photos draw flak online

A post by a netizen showing school honors certificates in Malabon featuring the faces of politicians has drawn strong negative reactions online.

Cruz added.

Cruz was referring to awards her nieces and nephew received during their recognition ceremony at Longos Elementary School on April 2. The students received certificates featuring the faces of Malabon City Representative Ricky Sandoval and Malabon Vice Mayor Jeannie Sandoval on the side.

Cruz claimed that the politicians had used the ceremony to "promote" themselves for reelection.

Cruz said.

GMA News Online has reached out to the Sandovals' side for comment.

Cruz said even other parents were dismayed upon receiving the certificates for their children.

"Hindi lang talaga ikinatuwa ng madaming magulang sa Malabon dahil bawat parangal na makuha ng bawat anak ay importante sa magulang at pamilya," she said. —JST, GMA News
