‘Inday Will Always Love You’ trends back-to-back on Twitter

Looks like TV viewers are developing a new habit.

GMA-7 primetime show “Inday Will Always Love You” keeps trending on Philippine Twitter since its Monday premiere.

The hashtag #IWALYBonggangPilot earned more than 29,000 tweets, while the hashtag #IWALYDemolisyon which accompanied its second day of airing clocked in more than 13,000 tweets.

On both days, IWALY landed on the top spot of Philippine Twitter trends.

According to Nielsen Philippines TAM’s National Urban Philippines data, IWALY recorded a 43 percent overnight people share on its debut episode Monday. 

On Tuesday, IWALY was at 45.2 percent.

the TV show also hit number 1 on Philippine trends on its second day

There are many reasons for IWALY’s strong start: There’s Happylou’s bubbly and positive attitude that enamored the Twitterati, Cebu being the fresh location of the show, and the strong cast that features the likes of the Lumen Twins, Kimpoy Feliciano, and Jao Mapa joining Kapuso actor Barbie Fortaleza.
