Miss Universe Iris Mittenaere visits Haiti, does charity work with Smile Train

Miss Universe 2016 Iris Mittenaere traveled to Haiti this week, reuniting with fellow beauty queen Raquel Pelissier and doing charity work with the local chapter of Smile Train.

"It was such an amazing experience watching a life-changing cleft surgery firsthand at [Smile Train's] local partner hospital, Hopital Universitaire Justinien in Cap Haitien," the French beauty wrote.

Mittenaere is studying to become a dental surgeon and said that she was "honored to be in the operating room with Smile Train’s local medical partners who are on the ground helping cleft patients 365 days a year."
