Pia Wurtzbach condemns bashing as she congratulates Maureen Wroblewitz

Miss Universe 2015 Pia Wurtzbach has extended praise for model Maureen Wroblewitz, who on Wednesday won Asia's Next Top Model cycle 5. Both women are Filipina-Germans and both are proud members of #TeamPhilippines.

Wurtzbach called Wroblewitz's final photo stunning and congratulated her for beating the odds. The 18-year-old was subjected to disparaging remarks about being "just a pretty face" and, at 5'6", was also one of the shorter models.

"You have taught us that even when the odds are against you, if your will power to win is strong, you can come out victorious," the beauty queen said of the model.

Wurtzbach, who served as a guest judge for the show, had fond words for the rest of the Top 3 finalists. She expressed her admiration for Malaysia's Shikin Gomez, saying that she saw herself in the Gomez.

"I know you are a fighter. You are a great learner and you have huge potential. And that distinct look! Wow. It's unmistakable. You've improved so much and I am sure you will do well in the industry. I am so sure of it," Wurtzbach wrote.

She also took the time to clarify that she does not hate Vietnam's Minh Tu Nguyen.

"Please stop the hate guys. I DO NOT hate Tu. In fact I think she is beautiful, fierce and strong. She has a spirit that is hard to miss. If there were any misunderstandings from the fans thinking that I hate her, I'm sorry but that's not true. I love Vietnam," Wurtzbach declared.
