Rachel Peters pick strong contenders for the Miss Universe crown

With the nearing Miss Universe pageant, Philippine bet Rachel Peters revealed to the press at their send-off party at Novotel on Monday, who among the candidates she thinks are her toughest contenders for the crown.

"I have seen the girls, I have seen what they are up to and I think the two of my toughest competitions are Miss Thailand and Miss South Africa, who actually shares the same last name as me," Peters told the press.

Thailand bet Maria Lynn Ehren is a Thai-Swedish model and singer, while South Africa's bet Demi-Leigh Nel-Peters is a model.

Although she initially checked on the social media accounts of some candidates, she thinks the real winner will be uncovered once she has seen and met the ladies personally.

"I think it's really anyone's game, what you see on Instagram and Facebook that's a picture, you can edit that picture, once you're there, that's when you'll know who the real winner is," Peters said.

Peters will represent the Philippines in the Miss Universe pageant in Las Vegas on November 26.
