Katarina Rodriguez dedicates Miss World competition to the PHL

Hours before the 2018 Miss World Philippines coronation night, beauty queen Katarina Rodriguez took to Instagram and dedicated the competition to the Philippines.

"My heart cannot be fuller than tonight, to walk the stage again for all of our nation, competing to wear the Philippine sash over my heart one more time - and this time for the WORLD," a portion of her bilingual caption read.

Ito na Pilipinas! Ang aking puso na sobra ang galak na muling paglakad at paglaban, paglaban na maisuot ang Philippine sash sa kabila ng aking puso muli at ngayon ay para na sa buong MUNDO. "The last few months I have given all of myself and all of my time for this night. I have nothing in my heart but love for you, Philippines. Tonight is dedicated for you and for God. Thank you all for making me the woman I am today, thank you for believing in me and giving me this one more chance," she continued. 

Katarina represented the country in the Miss Intercontinental Pageant last year, where she placed first runner-up.

In August, she announced she planned to compete in Miss World Philippines.

"If the stars will have it, it would be my grandest honor to represent the Philippines this year for Miss World," she ended her caption.
