“That one is called ‘Flora Belle’ and it’s made with Japanese beads and resin flowers,” Ken tells GMA News Online.

Like Fleur, the Flora Belle earrings belong to his Matthew & Melka line.

It’s one of the few gifts he was able to give Drew, after learning the Hollywood actor adored his Fleur earrings so much; it was what Lyn Ching gave her after their one-on-one interview, and what Drew wore at the Manila premiere.

Says Ken, Fleur is made with resin and triple-plated with 18k gold. “They’re handmade in Cebu,” Ken adds.

Before Drew flew to Bangkok, the Manila-based designer was able to gift Drew a few of his designs. “I gave her a variety of the Fleur, my signature floral clutch, and the Flora Belle, which she wore in Bangkok,” Ken narrates.

The designs we keep seeing on Drew are all part of his Spring/Summer 2018 collection, which he actually just showed in Paris. “I actually just got back from Paris, where I showed those designs. I was one of eight designers from around the world who presented there.”

The biologist-turned-designer only makes about 20 pieces of each design per month because “I want my designs to remain special and not be all over the place.” But with the publicity that a Hollywood actor brings, he knows he might have to reconsider.

“My follower count on Instagram has gone up, it’s crazy,” he shares. — LA, GMA News

Ken Samudio’s accessories are available at Lanai, in Karrivin Alley on Pasong Tamo Extension in Makati. Prices vary for every design, starting at P5,000
