BPI restores correct amounts in accounts, ATM access

The Bank of the Philippine Islands said it has fixed the glitches that led to errors in transaction postings for accounts of its clients, as well as access to its automated teller machine networks as of 10 p.m. on Wednesday.

"We would like to announce that we have rectified the mis-postings related to the internal systems problem. Access to ATMs has also been restored," the bank said in a statement.

"Please accept our gratitude for your patience, and our apologies for any inconvenience you may have experienced."

The bank added that access to online and mobile banking would be restored shortly afterwards.

Electronic access was suspended for most of the day as the bank fixed glitches that had clients fuming over inaccurate statements reflected on their account. The bank assured that no money would be lost as it worked to restore accurate account information. —JST, GMA News
