PAL places 67th in the World's Top 100 airlines


The country's flag carrier Philippine Airlines' (PAL) rank in the World's Top 100 Airlines improved as it has obtained the 67th spot.

In 2016, PAL was ranked 83rd.

According to the Skytrax World Airline Awards website, this year's World Airline Awards was held at the Paris Air Show on June 20. The results were released after airline customers voted around the world.

"This is the fourth time that Skytrax have staged the Awards event at Paris Air Show, and the Air Show organisers (GIFAS) have provided the fabulous Air and Space Museum as the venue," according to the website post.

"Paris Air Show is the world's best-known and most prestigious aerospace event, and Skytrax are honoured to welcome the bosses from airlines around the world to the Award ceremony," it added.

The survey was conducted from August 2016 to May 2017 wherein 19.87 million eligible survey entries were counted in the final results.

A total of 320 airlines were featured in the survey.

The Top Ten Airlines in 2017 are the following:

  • Qatar Airways
  • Singapore Airlines
  • ANA All Nippon Airways
  • Emirates
  • Cathay Pacific
  • EVA Air
  • Lufthansa
  • Etihad Airways
  • Hainan Airlines
  • Garuda Indonesia
