BSP, BPI probe ‘faceless’ P100 bills

The Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas (BSP) and the Bank of the Philippine Islands (BPI) are now investigating the "faceless" P100 bills that came out of an automated teller machine (ATM), as reported by a netizen.

"Yes, we're investigating the matter right now," BSP Governor Nestor Espenilla Jr. told GMA News Online. "We're trying to get the said notes to examine."

In her Facebook account, Earla Anne Yehey posted pictures of the P100 bills which do not have the face of the late President Manuel Roxas on them. The netizen tagged the BPI and the BSP in her post.

"We are already investigating the matter and currently validating the concerns of Ms. Earla Anne. We will provide updates once available," BPI said in a separate statement.

Yehey's post has so far garnered more than 25,000 reactions and 20,335 shares. —KBK, GMA News
