More jobs were available to fresh grads in 2017, says JobStreet

Last year was a favorable year to fresh graduates as there were more jobs available to them, JobStreet Philippines said on Wednesday.

“There was an increase in the number of jobs available to college fresh graduates,” the online employment portal noted.

Last year, graduates in law and legal services were the highest paid specializations, followed by communications and content jobs.

Employers have shown a shift in hiring performance, “from experience-based qualifications to interpersonal and 21st century skills,” Jobstreet noted.

Meanwhile, 41 percent of employers are still indefinite about hiring K-12 graduates, with only 24 percent subscribing to the idea. — Jannielyn Ann Bigtas/VDS, GMA News
