PLDT, Smart extend deadline for postpaid subscribers amid COVID-19 threat

Pangilinan-led PLDT Inc. and its mobile subsidiary Smart Communications Inc. extended the deadline for payments of postpaid customers, amid the threat brought about by the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19).

In an advisory, PLDT said it would implement a 30-day extension period for all postpaid customers of PLDT Home, PLDT Enterprise, Smart, and Sun.

"We know how important it is for you and your family to stay connected during these difficult times of the COVID-19 outbreak," the advisory read.

"We hope this enables you to work and study from home and get the latest information that will help you take the right actions in caring for the health and wellness of your loved ones," it elaborated.

Ayala-led Globe Telecom Inc. earlier on Sunday made similar announcements.
