DOTr-LTO to release motor vehicle plates today

The Department of Transportation (DOTr), through the Land Transportation Office (LTO), is releasing this afternoon the plates of motor vehicles registered in July 2016 to automotive dealers and owners nationwide.

Vehicle owners who have registered their vehicles may claim their plates at the Authorized District Office (ADO) or through their respective dealers, the department said on Thursday.

One of Transportation Secretary Arthur Tugade’s marching orders when he assumed his post was to make sure that the problem of lack of vehicle plates be resolved at the soonest possible time, the department said in a statement.

“Itong problema na ito ay matagal na inireklamo at idinaing ng mga kababayan natin. Sino ba naman ang matutuwa na nagbabayad ka ng tama tapos aabutin ng siyam- siyam bago makuha ang plaka? Kaya tulad ng ipinangako ng ating Pangulo, heto ho, inayos namin, heto ho, may plaka na kayo” Tugade said. —VDS, GMA News
