PNP: No indication Resorts World incident is ISIS attack

There is no indication that the shooting incident inside Resorts World Manila early Friday morning is a terror attack, says  Philippine National Police (PNP) Chief Director Ronald dela Rosa.

"As of now, we cannot claim this is a terror attack, why? kasi wala siyang ginawang violence, wala siyang sinaktan," Dela Rosa said in an interview heard over Super Radyo's dzBB.

The police have yet to identify the suspect, who remains at large as of posting time, but clearing operations is underway.

Dela Rosa said the establishment is on lockdown and all the exits have been closed.

The lone suspect, the PNP chief said, is foreigner-looking, a Caucasian, and can be either an Arab or an American.

In a separate interview, PNP Spokesperson Supt. Dionardo Carlos advised the people to remain calm.

"We asked the public na huminahon at iwasan muna 'yung lugar. Kung mayroon po tayong information, ibigay sa awtoridad," he said. — BAP, GMA News
