Kian's OFW mom comes home in anguish: Bakit n'yo naman ginanoon?

It was a painful homecoming for the mother of slain Grade 11 student Kian Loyd delos Santos as she came home from her job in the Middle East.

Lorenza delos Santos, an Overseas Filipino Worker, said she still couldn't accept the fate that had befallen her son

"Pero 'pag nakikita ko 'yung sugat ng anak ko dito, dito 'yung bala ng baril eh. Sabi ko bakit niyo naman ginanoon, kasi 'di ko matanggap eh. Hanggang ngayon tingin ko buhay lang siya eh," said Lorenza in a "24 Oras" report by Saleema Refran on Friday.

Kian died after he was shot during an Oplan Galugad operation in Barangay 160 in Caloocan City on Wednesday night.

Authorities claimed that he attempted to escape when they were approaching him. Police chased him but the victim allegedly drew a gun and fired at them, forcing them to retaliate.

Relatives of the victim belied the accusations against Kian, saying they plan to use the CCTV camera footage of the barangay against cops who killed him. The footage showed cops carrying Kian, contrary to police claims that the student resisted and took off.

Police said they recovered a caliber .45 pistol and two sachets of suspected shabu from the victim. His relatives said the items do not belong to him.

A witness has come out saying that he heard Kian begging for his life before being killed by cops. —Anna Felicia Bajo/JST, GMA News
