Korean recovers bag stolen at NAIA

A Korean businessman has recovered his stolen bag containing a laptop, documents and cash worth more than half a million pesos after airport police found it in the house of a British national residing in Makati City.

GMA News' Mark Zambrano on "Unang Balita" reported Friday that the Korean lost his bag at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport.

As shown in an airport CCTV footage, businessman Michael Kim accidentally left his bag inside his baggage cart. In same footage another man takes the bag.

An investigation of airport taxi records and the footage led airport police, with the help of a taxi driver, to the Briton's home in an exclusive subdivision in Makati City.

But the suspect claimed he mistakenly thought the bag was his. Airport police however are not buying his excuse.

Airport Police Officer 2 Aldref Manuel of the Manila International Airport Authority said the suspect should have easily returned the bag before he was located by the police.

The NAIA police has already reported the incident to barangay officials.

Meanwhile, the Korean businessman lauded airport police's quick action.  —Nicole-Anne C. Lagrimas/LBG, GMA News
