One killed, 3 injured as gunmen open fire at Taguig birthday party

A victim was killed while three others were injured when motorcycle-riding gunmen chased their target straight into a birthday celebration in Taguig City, GMA 7 news program "24 Oras Weekend" reported on Sunday.

The gunmen drove up and started shooting at victim Ryan Yalung, who attempted to evade his assailants by fleeing into a Barangay Upper Bicutan birthday celebration.

But the suspects opened fire anyway, and Yalung was killed. Wounded in the gunfire were husband and wife Rosalina and Samuel Refuerzo, both of whom were shot in the leg; and a certain "Kalim", who was shot in the hand.

The wounded were brought to a nearby hospital for treatment.

"Hinabol siya. Dito siya pinutukan kaya nadamay 'yung kuya ko, pati 'yung hipag ko kasi nandiyan sila nakaupo. 'Yung asawa ng isang pamangkin ko tinamaan sa kamay," Samuel Refuerzo's brother, Roger Refuerzo, recounted.

"Naka-helmet po sila. Nag-parking po 'yung ano sa taas, tapos nakasakay lang 'yung isa. 'Yung isa ang bumaba, 'yun 'yung tumira," Roger added.
