Agot Isidro on running for senator: Parang hindi yata enjoy masyado ang Senado

Actress Agot Isidro denied she is going to run for a Senate seat in the midterm 2019 elections, according to a report on Unang Balita on Monday.

She said she is still enjoying making films and would rather focus on that.

"Ang sarap gumawa ng pelikula. Gawa muna tayo ng pelikula," she told reporters.

"Ang sarap umarte, especially now. I mean, 'di ba, I mean the landscape of filmmaking has changed," Isidro added.

"So parang feeling ko, du'n muna ako sa nag-eenjoy ako. Parang hindi yata enjoy masyado ang Senado," she said.

Asked if she is closing the door to a possible Senate run, however, Isidro said she is not yet sure.

Opposition senator Kiko Pangilinan, president of the Liberal Party, said in May that the LP is urging Isidro to join its coalition senatorial ticket for the 2019 mid-term national elections.

He said they wanted Isidro to join the coalition ticket because the actress is "very opinionated, matapang, and we need strong women candidates."

Isidro is a vocal critic of President Rodrigo Duterte. —KG, GMA News
