Influx of tourists prompts Baguio City to suspend Tuesday classes

The influx of tourists from Metro Manila has prompted the local government of Baguio City to suspend classes on Tuesday.

In his Facebook account, City Mayor Mauricio Domogan said pre-school to high school classes were suspended "due to the influx of tourists in the city of Baguio."

Domogan attributed the influx of tourists to Baguio City to the ASEAN summits in Metro Manila and Clark.

The Metropolitan Manila Development Authority had said on Monday that among the factors that contributed to the gridlock over the weekend was the number of people travelling to the provinces to take advantage of the ASEAN holiday.

Malacañang declared November 13 to 15 as special non-working days in Metro Manila, Pampanga and Bulacan. Classes will remain suspended in these areas until Friday, until the 17th. —ALG, GMA News
