Two, including American, die in Sorsogon road accident

An American and another person died in a road accident in Sorsogon City on Friday afternoon.

Police identified the fatalities as Terry Lee Woodliff, 60 and Rolando Belardo, 47.

The victims died after their Toyota Innova collided with an Elavil bus unit in Barangay Buhatan at past 3 p.m.

Based on initial police investigations, the Toyota Innova was making a U-turn along the highway when it was hit by the passenger bus.

Woodliff's Filipino wife Analyn Esperrago Woodliff and a child, also a passenger of the Toyota Innova, were in critically hurt.

Woodliff and Analyn had just married. They were on their way to Quezon City when the accident happened.

The bus driver, facing a complaint of reckless imprudence resulting in multiple homicide and physical injuries, is currently under police custody. —report from Don Gloriane/ALG, GMA News
