Decaying whale made of plastic garbage urges action

Plastic garbage is a whale of a problem.

At least, that's the message that Greenpeace Philippines sought to convey through a life-size art installation the environmentalist organization erected on the shore of Naic, Cavite, recently.

Featured on GMA News TV's Balitanghali on Friday, April 12, the rubbish behemoth was made almost entirely of plastic waste shaped into decaying a blue whale carcass with garbage spilling out of its mouth—a grim reminder of the fate that befalls many a sea creature.

Greenpeace timed the display to coincide with President Rodrigo Duterte's visit to the World Economic Forum on ASEAN in Phnom Penh, Cambodia. — GMA News
