No LRT1 service from March 29-31

The Light Rail Transit Line 1 (LRT1) will be closed on select days during the Holy Week, as the rail commuter system will undergo “comprehensive maintenance works.”

The LRT1 will be closed from March 29 (Maundy Thursday) to April 1 (Easter Sunday), the Light Rail Manila Corp. (LRMC) said in an emailed statement on Monday.

“The shutdown will pave the way for comprehensive maintenance works on the trains and system facilities, which serves around 400,000-500,000 commuters daily,” the company said.

The rail line, which runs from Roosevelt in Quezon City to Baclaran in Pasay City, will resume normal operations on Monday, April 2, at 4:30 a.m.

“The public is advised to plan ahead and take alternative transportation during this period,” the company said. —Jon Viktor Cabuenas/VDS, GMA News
