Ang pagbabalik ng 'Mulawin' at iba pang mga programang aabangan sa GMA 7 ngayong 2017





GMA-7 has revealed its upcoming primetime shows for 2017.

One of the highly-anticipated primetime series of 2017 features the AlDub love team of Alden Richards and Maine Mendoza. They already started shooting for their first-ever TV drama titled "Destined To Be Yours."

Barbie Forteza and her four leading men—Ken Chan, Jak Roberto, Addy Raj, and Ivan Dorschner—lead the cast of the upcoming rom-com series "Meant To Be."

Meanwhile, Kapuso Romantic Comedy Queen Jennylyn Mercado topbills the upcoming local remake of "My Love From The Star" with newbie actor Gil Cuerva.

The Kapuso network revealed its 2017 shows during the annual New Year's Eve countdown last Saturday, December 31, 2016.

DRAMAS. Couple Julie Ann San Jose and Benjamin Alves along with LJ Reyes, Martin del Rosario, and Jean Garcia, lead the TV remake of the hit 1987 movie "Pinulot Ka Lang Sa Lupa." The series is scheduled to air its pilot episode sometime this January.

"Starstruck IV" winner Kris Bernal remains a Kapuso after rumors surfaced that she was transferring networks. She will lead the upcoming remake of Impostora with Rafael Rosell. The original series, which aired in 2007, was topbilled by Iza Calzado, Sunshine Dizon, and Mark Anthony Fernandez.

Kapuso actor Dennis Trillo is expected to topbill the upcoming "Mulawin" sequel titled "Mulawin vs Ravena." In the previous telefantasya, Dennis played the role of Gabriel, Alwina's (Angel Locsin) childhood friend who later found out the he was the Prince of Ravenas. Miguel Tanfelix is also rumored to reprise his role as Pagaspas in this reboot.

Meanwhile, Janine Gutierrez and Mikael Daez will be paired for the first time for the upcoming afternoon drama titled "Legally Blind."

WEEKEND/VARIETY/GAME. The Kapuso network will also debut a new musical variety show titled "Full House Tonight" hosted by Regine Velasquez-Alcasid.

Rumored stars include Miguel Tanfelix, Bianca Umali, Solenn Heussaff, Boobay, Joross Gamboa, Archie Alemania, Nar Cabico, Kim Idol, Tammy Brown, Divine Tetay, Terry Gian, and the all-male singing group One Up.

Comedian Michael V and TV host Iya Villania will continue hosting the third season of "Lip Sync Battle Philippines."

"Celebrity Bluff," hosted by Eugene Domingo, will get a daily edition.

Real-life couple Drew Arellano and Iya Villania will serve as hosts of the upcoming game show "People vs. The Stars." Kapuso heartthrobs Alden Richards, Kristoffer Martin, and Derrick Monasterio were already spotted filming an episode of the game show.

"Eat Bulaga" Dabarkads Ryan Agoncillo will also have his own show titled "Ryan's Playlist."

Other Kapuso programs to look forward to this 2017 include "D' Originals," "Text Serye," "Daig Kayo ng Lola Ko," and "Project Achieved."

HEART OF ASIA/BLOCKBUSTER MOVIES. GMA-7 also revealed the upcoming Korean drama series they will air this 2017.

"Jewel in the Palace" actress Lee Young-Ae returns on K-dramas via "Saimdang, Light's Diary." This period drama is scheduled to air this January 26 in South Korea.

The other Korean dramas are "Moon Lovers: Scarlet Heart Ryeo" starring K-Pop idol IU and Lee Jun Ki, and "Cinderella and the Four Knights" which stars Park So-dam, Jung Il-woo, Ahn Jae-hyun, Lee Jung-shin, and Choi Min.  -- For more showbiz news, visit PEP.ph
