Reigning NBA MVP Stephen Curry to visit Philippines in September

Golden State Warriors' guard and reigning NBA Most Valuable Player Stephen Curry is set to visit the Philippines on Sept. 5.

 

As part of a roadshow sponsored by Under Armour, the 2015 NBA champion will tour Asian cities including Tokyo, Beijing, Chongqing, and Shanghai.

 

Curry also announced the trip on his Twitter account.

 

 

“China and the Philippines have a rich cultural connection to basketball and I’ve heard the game is becoming more popular in Japan by the day," the NBA star said in a press release.

 

"This will be an unforgettable experience and we have some special things planned for some of the best basketball fans in the world," he added.

 

Curry, who won his first NBA championship last June in a six-game finals series against LeBron James' Cleveland Cavaliers, is the league's latest rising superstar.
