Cris 'Jumbo' Bolado dies in motorcycle accident in Cambodia


Former PBA center Cris Bolado died in a motorcycle accident in Cambodia on Sunday.

The 6-foot-7 big man nicknamed "Jumbo" Bolado for his heft has been living in Cambodia where he owns a restaurant called Inasal Nation.

The restaurant broke news of his tragic death on Facebook.

According to a report on Cambodian news site Fresh News Asia, Bolado was involved in a crash with a car, which badly damaged his left foot. He died en route to the hospital.

Bolado was drafted by Alaska in 1994 and was part of the Aces' 1996 Grand Slam team. He also had memorable stints for Purefoods and Barangay Ginebra San Miguel.

He also appeared as a contestant on "Survivor Philippines: Palau" on GMA-7 in 2009. —JST, GMA News
