Starters combine for 82 as TNT trounces Rain or Shine in Iloilo

TNT KaTropa’s bench combined for a high 82 points to defeat the Rain or Shine Elasto Painters, 110-104, on Saturday in Passi, Iloilo in the 2018 PBA Governors’ Cup.

Marqus Blakely packed his stats sheet with 26 points, 14 rbeounds, and eight assists with three steals and a block with just two turnovers in almost 39 minutes on the floor.

Troy Rosario and Terrence Romeo, meanwhile, led the locals with 24 and 22 points, respectively, while RR Pogoy rounded up the TNT players in double figures with 14.

In contrast, only import J’Nathan Bullock scored in double digits for Rain or Shine’s starters with 23 points, as Jewel Ponferada, Maverick Ahanmisi, Norbert Torres, and Ed Daquioag combined for just 19 more.

James Yap delighted the croqd with 21 points off the bench, while Gabe Norwood and Raymond Almazan combined for 20 as reserves.

TNT minimized their errors to just 15 while forcing Rain or Shine to commit 23. The KaTropa then converted the Elasto Painters’ 23 miscues to 27 big points.

Rain or Shine also did not capitalize on their charities, hitting just 25 of ther 40 attempts as TNT was limited to 27 tries from the stripe, making 18. — DVM, GMA News
