Danny Kingad takes on former flyweight champ Kairat Akhmetov at ONE: Big Bang
ONE Flyweight World Grand Prix finalist Danny Kingad of Team Lakay is set to feature in yet another acid test the next time he sets foot inside the cage.
The no. 2 rated flyweight from Baguio City is scheduled to lock horns with the no. 3 rated and former ONE flyweight world champion Kairat Akhmetov on the undercard of ONE: Big Bang on December 4 at Singapore Indoor Stadium.
Just two fights ago, the 24-year-old Kingad (14-2) went the distance but lost on points against Demetrious Johnson, who many believe is the greatest of all time in the sport of mixed martial arts.
He bounced back from that loss after defeating Xie Wei via unanimous decision last January.
Akhmetov, meanwhile, last saw action against Reece McLaren in March 2019 where he won via unanimous decision. The former champ holds notable wins over former champ Geje Eustaquio and current ONE flyweight world champion Adriano Moraes.
In the main event, Roman Krykli is set to defend his ONE light heavyweight kickboxing title against Murat Aygun. —MGP, GMA News
