RP firm buys US-based hiring company

MANILA, Philippines - Listed holdings firm A. Soriano Corporation disclosed Tuesday that it has acquired an American company which provides staffing of health professionals in US hospitals and clinics. Anscor said it purchased MDI Medical LLC for $2 million using internal funds. The purchase was made last week through Anscor’s US-based unit Cirrus Holdings, Inc. to complement the company’s international nurse staff businesses in North Carolina and Texas. Anscor runs an international nurse recruitment office in the Philippines. MDI is in the business of recruiting and placing therapists and therapist assistants for physical and occupational therapy, and speech language pathology.
