Niño Muhlach confirms Liezel's breast cancer

It's been a while since people heard anything new about Niño Muhlach, but things sure look pretty bleak for the former child wonder. Fame and fortune garnered over the years seemed to empty up and rumors added that Niño was bankrupt. When Startalk paid Niño a visit at Mowelfund last Friday, October 24, he proved the rumors false with some good news. "Right now, I'm busy sa pag-direct at sa pastries and sa indie films," Niño happily said. When asked about if another rumor concerning his drug use was true, he laughed and answered, "Ay, hindi. It's not true. Nagkaroon ako ng kaso pero hindi pa naman tapos ang kaso, so hayaan na lang natin ‘yan sa korte." However, there was one rumor that Niño confirmed: the condition in which his cousin, Liezel Martinez, was in. Niño's father Alex Muhlach is the brother of Liezl's mother, former movie queen Amalia Fuentes. "Si Ate Liezel, pagdasal na lang natin," said Niño. "Alam mo naman, yung cancer of the breast, e 98 percent curable basta ma-detect nang maaga. So I think there is big chance." "Mabait si Ate Liezel, so, hindi naman siguro kukunin ng Diyos dahil marami pa siyang maisi-share sa atin at mabuti naman na malakas ang loob ni Ate Liezel at si Albert [Martinez, Liezl's husband] at mga anak niya. Nakikita mo malakas siya at makikita mo na okey lang. Like I said, I believe that it is curable and hopefully in God's time, gumaling."
